I NEED A SWORN TRANSLATOR FOR SOME DOCUMENTS WHAT STEPS SHOULD I FOLLOW?

Get your instant quote

  • Go to the Tradutema quote calculator.
  • In the field What language is the document in?, select the language in which the document is written. If the document is in several languages, select the one you wish to have translated. Please note that the cheapest language combination will always be Spanish/English.
  • In the field
  • In the field How many pages does it have?, indicate the total number of pages contained in the document you wish to have translated. If you only need some pages translated, that’s possible — simply indicate the number of pages you want translated. Later, when confirming payment, you may specify this in the Order Comments field.
  • The sworn translation fee will then appear.
  • In the field How do you want to receive the translation?, indicate the format in which you wish to receive it:
    • Select Email (PDF, free) to receive the sworn translation only in PDF format, digitally signed by the sworn translator. The quoted fee includes delivery of the translation in PDF format. Remember that in Spain, sworn translations in PDF format with the translator’s electronic signature are fully valid.
    • Select PDF + Standard delivery to receive the certified translation in PDF format (digitally signed) as well as the printed version at the address you provide.
  • In the field
  • Next, click on CALCULATE QUOTE and wait a few seconds.
  • The certified translation quote will appear:
    • For uploaded documents, you’ll see a list of all the files you uploaded. In the TRANSLATE PAGES column, you can indicate which pages are to be translated. If you leave it blank, all pages will be included.
    • If, in addition to the digitally signed PDF version (fully valid in Spain), you also wish to receive the paper version, select YES and the appropriate delivery option (Iberian Peninsula, Europe or Rest of the World). The total price will update automatically. The paper version will be sent by private courier within mainland Spain and by registered post elsewhere. Delivery by private courier usually takes 24–48 hours once the translation is ready. For other destinations, it depends on local postal services.
    • In the Estimated PDF Delivery Date field, you’ll see the date we expect the official translation in PDF to be ready. If this date doesn’t suit you, you can change it by clicking the link. If you choose an earlier date, an express surcharge will apply. The price will update automatically.
**SHIPPING: the paper version of the certified translation is sent by private courier within mainland Spain. Delivery time is 24 hours from when the translation is handed over to the courier company. For the rest of the world, it is sent by registered mail, and the delivery time depends on the destination country’s postal services. **DELIVERY TIME: We will do our best to deliver the translation within the chosen deadline. In 90% of cases, we meet the date indicated by the client. However, in exceptional cases — due to document length, language combination, public holidays, etc. — it may take slightly longer. The standard delivery time for main languages and documents under 3 pages is usually 48 working hours. If you select an earlier date than the standard delivery time, an urgent surcharge may apply (approx. +40% for short orders). **QUOTE: The quote assumes that each page contains no more than 250 words and that the document includes only editable text. If this is not the case, the company reserves the right to apply a surcharge.

THAT’S HOW SIMPLE IT IS!!

TRANSLATION OF DOCUMENTS AND LEGALIZATION AND APOSTILLE OF THE HAGUE.

The institution or authority requesting the sworn translation may have mentioned the legalisation or apostille of the document. Before having the sworn translation done, ask the institution what documents you are required to submit. Below we briefly explain what legalisation involves. You can also take a look at our section on Legalisation and the Hague Apostille for more information on this topic.

In countries that have not signed the Hague Convention

If you must present the documents in a country outside Europe that has NOT signed the Hague Convention (or the document originates from one of those countries), you may be asked to have the document legalised. In that case, the document must first be legalised and then the entire sworn translation carried out. For information on the Hague Convention and the legalisation of a document issued by a Spanish institution, you can visit:

In countries that have signed the Hague Convention

If you must present the documents in a country outside Europe that HAS signed the Hague Convention (or the document originates from one of those countries), you may be asked to include the Hague Apostille on the document. In that case, the apostille must first be added to the document, and then the sworn translation carried out. For information on the Hague Convention and where to obtain the apostille for a document issued by a Spanish institution, you can visit:

Within the European Union

If the procedures are carried out within the European Union, you will have no problem with our sworn translation stamped by a translator appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

SWORN TRANSLATORS ONLINE WITH THE BEST QUALITY

In this video we explain how to obtain your certified translation quickly and easily.

What is a sworn translation?

If you are asked to provide a sworn translation (traducción jurada) in Spain, you should know that these are official or certified translations carried out by translators appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs for this purpose. All our translators are sworn translators officially appointed by the Ministry. The sworn translator certifies that the translation is complete and faithful to the original document provided. A sworn translator may only certify translations into or from the language for which they have been appointed. However, please note that the sworn translator does not certify the authenticity or validity of the original document—this is done through other procedures, such as legalisation or the Hague Apostille. For more information, please visit our section on Frequently Asked Questions about sworn translation.

WHY CHOOSE TRADUTEMA FOR YOUR CERTIFIED ONLINE TRANSLATIONS?

In the past, to obtain a sworn and official translation of documents, there were two options:

  • Find a sworn translator directly, which has the following drawbacks:
    • A lot of time is wasted calling each translator individually.
    • Many sworn translators are busy, unavailable, no longer practising, or have never actually worked as official translators (sworn translators are appointed by the Ministry for life, so most of those appearing on official lists are no longer active or never were).
    • Comparing prices between different translators can be tedious, as you have to wait for several quotes and check what each service includes. These services are not regulated, and each translator organises their work differently. For example: Is the delivery of the paper version included? Does the fee cover the PDF version with the sworn translator’s digital signature? Is VAT included?
    • It can be risky to entrust a job to someone you know nothing about. You don’t know whether the translator will respect deadlines, honour the agreed quote, etc.—you are placing yourself entirely in the hands of a stranger.
  • Go through a sworn translation agency, which:
  1. Is considerably more expensive.
  2. Does not offer a personalised service in case you have questions about procedures or paperwork.
  3. Usually has longer delivery times.

Tradutema.com allows you to:

  1. Instantly know the price of your sworn translation.
  2. Directly contact sworn translation experts with any questions via WhatsApp, by phone at +34 670 91 78 60, or by email at info@tradutema.com regarding the process you need to follow.
  3. Place your order immediately, which speeds up delivery times.
  4. Quickly and easily receive your translation in your preferred format.
